Ocean Geometrics: 2016-17

This exhibition is about exploring Encaustic painting on a variety of surfaces with additional materials such as stones, oil pigments, marking and transparent ink and pigments. Connected to my experience with the changes in the ocean environments and our attempts to monitor those changes are the metric lines and organized geometrics in the images. Though we seem to have a wide variety of ways in which we monitor oceanic change, we don't seem to be able to do much about these changes or even predict the range of temperature, amount of ice melt or height of sea level change.
